Est. 2019 The Alder Room Find a table

Est. 2019 · Old Town · Open till late

A dim room, a slow pour, a long night ahead.

A small speakeasy behind an unmarked door. Ten seats at the bar, a few tables in the dark, and a pianist most weekends.

The room

Down a quiet lane, past the green door.

We keep the lamps low and the volume lower. No screens, no queue at the bar, no rush to turn the table. Come in from the cold, take the stool by the window, and let the bartender read what you feel like tonight.

The list turns with the season and the fruit at the market. Friday and Saturday a pianist plays from nine, and the room settles into something close to a held breath.

Tonight we are pouring The Alder Sour the Forest Negroni a Smoked Old Fashioned the Midnight Martini Ember

Poured by the glass and made to order. If nothing here fits your mood, tell the bartender three words and let them build it.

A lamp-lit booth in a dim bar
I came in from the rain to kill twenty minutes and stayed till last call. The Alder Sour is the best thing I have had all year, and the pianist knew when to go quiet.
