We grind pigment by hand in small batches on the same benches we have since 1946. Every colour here is real, mixed to order, and named for the place it came from.

Heller & Vane has mixed colour for three generations. Pigment is ground by hand, weighed against the last batch, and tinted under north light until it matches the card exactly. A colour leaves the bench only when two of us agree it is right.
We keep an archive of every colour we have ever made — four thousand cards, filed by the year they were struck. Bring us a scrap of a wall, a photograph, a memory of a room, and we will find it or make it.
